COMPULSORY PURCHASE OF LAND IN CHICKERELL, WEYMOUTH, DORSET
CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW HIGHWAY

Notice is hereby given that the County Council of Dorset has made The County Council of Dorset (Chickerell Link Road) Compulsory Purchase Order 2004 and The County of Dorset (Chickerell Link Road) (Side Roads) Order 2004 under the Highways Act 1980. It is about to submit these Orders to The Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation and if confirmed, the Orders will authorise The County Council of Dorset to purchase compulsorily the land described below for the purpose of the construction of a new highway. A copy of the Orders and of the accompanying maps may be seen at all reasonable hours at County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester DT1 1XJ and Council Offices, Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, North Quay, Weymouth DT4 8TA. Any objection to the Orders must be made in writing to The Secretary of State, Local Authority Orders Section, Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle-upon-Tyne NE1 4TD, before 17 September 2004, and should state the title of the Orders and the grounds of objection. Description of the Land and the New Rights The construction of a new highway between the B3157 Chickerell Road, Chickerell at its junction with Fleet Land, Chickerell and Hampshire Road, Chickerell to the north of the Granby Industrial Estate.
