THE A35 TRUNK ROAD (RAYMOND’S HILL, AXMINSTER) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 200
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under section 84(1)(a) and (2) of, and paragraph 27(1) of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A35 Trunk Road in the district of East Devon in the county of Devon. The effect of the Order would be to impose a 40 mph speed limit on the A35 Trunk Road in the district of East Devon in the county of Devon, from a point 66 metres south-east of its junction with C69 Trinity Hill Road to a point 100 metres east of its junction with C202 Green Lane, a distance along the said road of 1123 metres. The existing Order imposing a 50 mph speed limit on the A35 Trunk Road at Raymond’s Hill, Axminster, on the same length of road, would be revoked. Copies of the draft Order, of a plan illustrating the proposal, a statement of the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, and the Order to be revoked, may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of East Devon District Council, The Knowle, Sidmouth EX10 8HL, and during opening hours at The Post Office, Raymond’s Hill, Axminster, Devon. They may also be obtained by application to the Highways Agency, Traffic Operations, Zone 2/03K, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6HA, or by e-mailing: toswbs@highways.gsi.gov.uk, quoting Ref HA 028/002/119. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send not later than 20 February 2004, or within 21 days from the date of first publication of this notice if that period expires later, a written statement of his or her objection and the grounds on which it is made to the Highways Agency, Traffic Operations, Zone 2/03K, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6HA or by e-mail to toswbs@highways.gsi.gov.uk, quoting Ref HA 028/002/119.
