1. Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Merton, after consulting the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, intend to make the above-mentioned Order under section 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effects of the Order will be: (a) to amend the locations of various bus stop clearways as detailed in Schedule 1 to this notice; (b) to further amend waiting restrictions operating on Merton High Street to those detailed in Schedule 2 to this notice; (c) to further amend loading restrictions operating on Merton High Street to those detailed in Schedule 3 to this notice; (d) to amend the location of pay and display bays on Merton High Street located near 194-196 Merton High Street, to between a point 1 metre west of the party wall of Nos 194-196 Merton High Street, eastwards for a distance of 10 metres. The bays shall operate Monday to Saturday inclusive, between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm, 30 pence per hour, maximum stay two hours. 3. Nothing in this Order will apply to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes. 4. A copy of the draft Order, a plan identifying the area affected by the draft Order, and the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order can be inspected during normal office hours, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey. 5. Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objections and the grounds thereof to the Environmental Services Department (Ref SGE), at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey SM4 5DX, no later than 15 January 2004. (ii) south side: (a) from a point opposite the eastern flank wall of Kilkenny Tavern, extending eastwards for a distance of 35 metres; (b) from a point opposite the eastern kerbline of Victory Road, eastwards for a distance of 37 metres.
