WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS (AMENDMENT (NO ) ORDER 200
RECREATION WAY

1. Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Merton, after consulting the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, intend to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and the Road Traffic Act 1991. 2. The general effects of the Orders will be: (a) to amend the London Borough of Merton (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) Order 1977 to introduce waiting restrictions operating at all times in the roads detailed in Schedule 1 to this notice; (b) to amend the London Borough of Merton (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) Order 1977 to introduce loading restrictions operating at all times in the roads detailed in Schedule 2 to this notice; (c) to introduce a bus gate on Recreation Way from a point 45.5 metres north-west of the south-eastern kerbline of Kent Close for a distance of 10 metres in a north-westerly direction. The carriageway shall be narrowed to 3.5 metres, and raised for the exclusive use of buses and cycles only. 3. Nothing in this Order will apply to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes. 4. A copy of the draft Orders, a plan identifying the area affected by the draft Orders, and the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey. 5. Any person desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objections and the grounds thereof to the Environmental Services Department (Ref SGE) at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey SM4 5DX, no later than 15 January 2004. Schedule 1 Waiting Restrictions operating at all times Recreation Way: North-east Side, from a point 8.5 metres south-east of a point opposite the south-eastern kerbline of Kent Close for a distance of 112 metres extending in a north-westerly direction. South-west Side, between its junctions with Huntingdon Close and Kent Close. Schedule 2 Loading Restrictions operating at all times Recreation Way: North-east Side, from a point 8.5 metres south-east of a point opposite the south-eastern kerbline of Kent Close for a distance of 112 metres extending in a north-westerly direction.
