THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (TRUNK ROADS) RED ROUTE (BUS LANES) TRAFFIC ORDER 1997 GLA VARIATION ORDER 2003
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

1. Transport for London, hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Order on 15 December 2003, under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 2. (a) The City of Westminster (Trunk Road) Red Route (Bus Lanes) Traffic Order 1997 Experimental Variation Order 2002 (“the experimental Order”) (GLA 2002/414) was made under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and came into force on 1 July 2002. (b) The provisions of the experimental Order were varied by The City of Westminster (Trunk Road) Red Route (Bus Lanes) Traffic Order 1997 Experimental Variation Order 2002 (“the variation Order”) (GLA 2002/795). 3. Transport for London has carefully considered whether or not the provisions of the experimental Order as varied should be continued indefinitely and has decided that they should be so continued. 4. Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on Local Authorities’ by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and in accordance with regulation 23 of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, Transport for London has made The City of Westminster (Trunk Road) Red Routes (Bus Lanes) Traffic Order 1997 Experimental Variation Order 2003 (“the permanent Order”). That Order will come into force on 31 December 2003, and the effect of that Order will be to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the experimental Order as varied by the provisions of the variation Order. 5. The road affected by the permanent Order is the A41 Finchley Road. 6. A copy of the permanent Order, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and a copy of the experimental Order, the variation Order and any other Order, suspended or modified by the permanent Order can be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of: Transport for London, Street Management Statutory Functions, Traffic Orders, 6th Floor, 84 Eccleston Square, London SW1V 1PX; City of Westminster, One Stop Shop, Westminster City Hall, 62 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6QB. 7. Any person wishing to question the validity of the permanent Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, that person may within 6 weeks from the date on which that Order is made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
