THE A12 GLA ROAD (HACKNEY AND TOWER HAMLETS) (40 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TRAFFIC ORDER 2003

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that on 1 December 2003 it made the above-named Order under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order comes into force on 15 December 2003. 2. The general nature and effect of the Order is to impose a speed restriction of 40 mph on the A12 Blackwall Tunnell Northern Approach/East Cross Route between a point 50 metres north of the north face of gantry G8 and the borough boundary between the London Boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets. 3. The road affected by the Order is indicated in paragraph 2. 4. The length of the road affected is currently subject to a speed limit of 50 miles per hour and 40 miles per hour. 5. A copy of the Order and a plan indicating the location and effect of the Order can be inspected free of charge during normal office hours for 6 weeks following the date on which this notice is published, at the offices of: Transport for London, Street Management, Statutory Functions, Traffic Orders, 6th Floor, 84 Eccleston Square, London SW1V 1PX; and London Borough of Hackney, Traffic & Transport Department, First Floor Reception, Dorothy Hodgkin House, 12 Reading Lane, London E8 1HJ; and London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Council Offices, 60 Southern Grove, London E3 4PN. 6. Applications to the High Court challenging the legality of the Order should be made within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made.
