TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Tyne and Wear) (No 12) Order 2003” authorising the stopping-up of the unnamed highway off Welfare Road, leading to Eppleton Miners Welfare Ground at Hetton-le-Hole, Tyne and Wear to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with planning permissions granted to the developer by the City of Sunderland on 10 January 2002 and 8 May 2002 under Refs 01/01216/LOU and 02/00229/LRE. Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Secretary of State at the offices of the Director Environment Group, Government Office for the North East, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD (quoting Ref GO-NE/02/5038/35/23) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of the City of Sunderland, The Reception Desk, Legal and Democratic Services, Third Floor, Civic Centre, Burdon Road, Sunderland SR2 7DN. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 11 August 2003 apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. (2) Improvements to terraces and changing facilities to football field. (3) Road layout alterations to form bus interchange at Eppleton Miners Welfare Ground, Welfare Road, Hetton, Sunderland.
