NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Brian Sidney Murfitt, of Rotheray, Chapel Bridge Farm, Whittlesey,
Peterborough, Cambridgeshire PE7 2LT, is applying to the Environment Agency for a
Licence to abstract water from drains in the area of the Whittlesey Internal Drainage
Board between National Grid Refs TL 284 936 and TL 295 928, TL 286 933 and TL 289
935, Whittlesey parish, and a drain in the area of the Ramsey 4th (Middlemoor) IDB
at TL 262 914, Ramsey parish, Cambridgeshire. The proposal is to abstract water 109
cubic metres per hour, 1,308 cubic metres per day and up to 8,408 cubic metres, between
April and September each year for spray irrigation purposes. The application is to
renew licence serial numbers 6/33/53/S/585 and 6/33/53/S/576, both of which are due
to expire on 30 September 2003. There will be no changes to the abstraction quantities
and so the water resources in the area will be unaffected. The areas of land on which
the water may be applied are to be reduced as well as the associated abstraction points.
A copy of the application and any map, plans and other document submitted with it
may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Rotheray, Chapel Bridge
Farm, Whittlesey, between 9 August 2003 and 6 September 2003.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so
in writing to the Environment Agency, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon PE28 4NE
before the end of the said period quoting the name of the applicant.
