NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that C A West & Sons of Warren Hills Farm, Oakley, Diss, Norfolk IP21 4AN, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence number 7/34/18/S/0048 which authorises the abstraction of water for spray irrigation between the months of May and September each year from the River Waveney at Billingford, Norfolk, National Grid Ref TM 1825 7830.
The variation being applied for is to relocate the authorised abstraction totals of 20,500 cubic metres per year, 655 cubic metres per day to a crag borehole groundwater abstraction, for storage and subsequent spray irrigation between April and October at land just north of Wingfield Castle Farm, National Grid Ref TM 2255 7790. The groundwater abstraction will not exceed that currently authorised from the surface abstraction.
A copy of the application and any maps, plans or other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Castle Farm, Wingfield, Eye, Norfolk IP21 5RB, between 9 April 2003 and 9 May 2003.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period.
