NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Notice is hereby given that an application is being made to the Environment Agency, Southern Region by Thames Water Utilities Ltd, Clearwater Court, Vastern Road, Reading, Berkshire RG1 8DB to vary licences to abstract water from underground strata (Chalk) at Orpington (licence number 9/40/1/127, National Grid Ref TQ 459 652) and North Orpington (licence number 9/40/1/124, National Grid Ref TQ 464 673) in South London. The variations applied for are to retain the current peak daily abstraction rates of 15,000 cubic metres per day at Orpington and 10,000 cubic metres per day at North Orpington, which expire on 24 March 2003. The water will be used for public water supply in South East London. There will be no increase to the amount of water that can be abstracted. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at Orpington Pumping Station, Tower Road, Orpington, Kent ER6 0SQ, at all reasonable hours during the period beginning on Friday 22 November 2002 and ending on Monday 23 December 2002. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Kent Area Manager, Environment Agency—Southern Region, Orchard House, Endeavour Park, London Road, Addington, West Malling, Kent ME19 5SH, before the end of the said period.
