NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Northumbrian Water Limited (trading as Essex & Suffolk Water) of Hall Street, Chelmsford, Essex CM2 0HH is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 7/34/17/*G/0073 which authorises the abstraction of water from the underground strata known as the Crag acquifer at National Grid Ref TM 1734 6846, at Bedingfield Water Treatment Works, Bedingfield Street, Bedingfield, Eye IP23 7LQ. There are two variations being applied for: (1) to add an additional point of abstraction at National Grid Ref TM 1735 6835. (2) to increase the combined maximum daily quantity of water to be abstracted from either borehole from 1036.8 to 1600 cubic metres per day. There will be no increase to the annual quantity abstracted (200,000 cubic metres per year). A copy of the application and any map, plans and documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Eye Library, Buckshorn Lane, Eye IP23 7AZ, between 21 May 2002 and 18 June 2002. Any person who wishes to make representation about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency at Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
