NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO VARY A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER
Take notice that Quantum Clothing Group trading as Stevensons, of North Street, Huthwaite, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire NG17 2PE, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 3/28/41/3/S/R which authorises the abstraction of water from the River Amber at National Grid Ref SK 3570 5212 at Bullbridge, Ambergate, Derbyshire. The variation being applied for is to increase the volume of water abstracted from the River Amber for industry other than cooling on site. The variation is also to include additional purposes of non evarporative cooling and private water undertaking on the licence. The licence currently authorises 500,000 cubic metres per annum for industrial processes (other than cooling) but does not fully represent operations on site. After previously being licensed for 1,200,000 cubic metres per annum up to June 2001, this application is to vary the licence back upwards to 850,000 cubic metres per annum. Please note that all the procedures carried out at the works are fully non consumptive and all abstracted water is discharged back into the River Amber approximately 20 metres downstream of the abstraction point. A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Stevensons, Amber Dye Works, Ambergate, Belper, Derbyshire DE56 2EX, between 27 March 2002 and 28 April 2002. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Trentside Offices, Scarrington Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 5FA, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
