THE HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A505 BALDOCK BYPASS CLASSIFIED ROAD) (SUPPLEMENTARY) (SIDE ROADS) ORDER 1999
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he has confirmed with modifications the above-named Orders which were
made by the Hertfordshire County Council, under sections 14 and 125 of the Highways
Act 1980, and which, as confirmed, authorises the Council to:
(a) improve highways;
(b) stop up highways;
(c) construct new highways;
(d) stop up private means of access to premises;
(e) provide new means of access to premises,
all on or in the vicinity of the route of the classified road known as the A505 Baldock
Bypass which the Council are proposing to construct/improve between the A6141 London
Road north of the B197 to connect with the A505 Royston Road north-east of the premises
known as “The Firs”.
Copies of the above-mentioned Orders and of the plans referred to therein have been
deposited and may be seen at all reasonable hours, free of charge, in Room 223a, County
Hall, Hertford; the Baldock Library, Simpson Drive, Baldock; and at the offices of
North Hertfordshire District Council, Gemon Road, Letchworth.
Any person aggrieved by either or both the Orders and desiring to question the validity
thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within
the powers of the Highways Act 1980 or on the ground that any requirement of that
Act or of any regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to
either or both the Orders, may, within 6 weeks of 1st February 2001, apply to the
High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Orders or of any provision contained
therein.
