HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

THE WILTSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (SEMINGTON AQUEDUCT) SCHEME 2000

The Wiltshire County Council hereby give notice that they have made and submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions for confirmation, a Scheme under sections 106(3) and 108(4) of the Highways Act 1980, authorising the Council to construct in connection with the new highway between Semington and Melksham in the county of Wiltshire an aqueduct to carry the navigable waters of the Kennet and Avon canal and a temporary diversion of the navigable water course in connection with the construction of the new highway. Copies of the Order and of the relevant plans and specfication may be inspected, free of charge, at the following places from 1st December 2000 to 19th January 2001, during usual office hours or at the time shown: (i) Wiltshire County Council (Corporate Services Department), County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge. (ii) West Wiltshire District Council, Bradley Road, Trowbridge. (iii) Melksham Library, Lowbourne, Melksham: Monday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m, Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (iv) Semington Post Office, 72 c High Street, Semington: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1.30 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (v) Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle-upon-Tyne NE1 4TD. Any person may, not later than 19th January 2001, object to the confirmation of the Scheme by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Local Authority Orders, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4TD, stating the grounds of objection.
