UNIVERSITIES OF OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE ACT 1923

A Statute made by the Governing Body of St. Edmund Hall in the University of Oxford, on 2nd June 2000, amending Statutes IV and VI, has been submitted for the approval of Her Majesty in Council, and notice of its having been so submitted is published in accordance with the provisions of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Act 1923. The effects of the amendments are: (a) to extend the time available to the Governing Body for the appointment of a new Principal; (b) to reduce the retiring age of the Principal; (c) to empower the Governing Body to appoint a Principal for a term of years; and (d) to relax statutory restrictions relating to the office of Dean, Safety Officer, and Fire Officer.
