RELATING TO—SEVEN STATIONS CYCLE LINK

Notice is hereby given that the Islington Borough Council on 25th April 2000, made the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. 2. The general effect of the Prescribed Routes Order, as part of the Seven Stations Cycle Link Scheme within the London Borough of Islington, will be to introduce cycle lanes in Bath Street, Bunhill Row, Featherstone Street, Leonard Street, Lever Street, Percival Street, Rosoman Street, Rosebery Avenue, Skinner Street, Sun Street, Tysoe Street and Wilson Street (N ote : the cycle lanes in Bath Street, Bunhill Row, Featherstone Street and Leonard Street will be contra-flow so that the exisitng one-way working in those streets will not apply to cyclists proceeding in the cycle lanes); 3. The general effect of the Parking Places Order will be, in order to facilitate the proposed cycle lanes, relocate a 2-hour metered parking place from Featherstone Street to Mallow Street, relocate a residents parking place in Featherstone Street, relocate 2-hour metered parking places in Bunhill Row, and relocate 2-hour metered parking places and a residents parking place in Leonard Street, increasing the metered parking by one bay. 4. The general effect of the Doctor Parking Place Order will be to re-site and formalise a doctors parking place in Bath Street. 5. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order will be to: (A) restrict waiting and loading in certain of the proposed cycle lanes which are not currently restricted, at the following times: (a) no waiting or loading At Any Time” in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; (b) no waiting or loading between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and between 8.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Saturdays in the length of streets specified in Schedule 2 to this notice; (c) no waiting only between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in the length of street specified in Schedule 3 to this notice; (d) no waiting between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and between 8.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Saturdays and no loading between 8.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. and between 4.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in the length of street specified in Schedule 4 to this notice; (B) prohibit waiting and loading At Any Time” at the juncitons of Farringdon Road/Rosebery Avenue, Rosebery Avenue/Mount Pleasant, Old Street/Bunhill Row/Bath Street and Wilson Street/Sun Street to keep these junctions clear of vehicles. 6. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 8th May 2000, and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours until the end of a period 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at the following location: The Legal Department, Town Hall Upper Street, Islington, London N1 2UD. If any person wishes to question the validity of any of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the Act or of any Instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, apply for the purpose to the High Court. Bath Street: (a) the east side, between a point opposite the southern kerb-line of Lever Street and a point 82 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Old Street; (b) the east side, between a point 42 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Old Street and that kerb-line. 2. Featherstone Street: (a) the north side, between the eastern kerb-line of Bunhill Row and the western kerb-line of Mallow Street; (b) the south side, between a point opposite the eastern kerb-line of Mallow Street and the western kerb-line of City Road. 3. Leonard Street: the north side, between the eastern kerb-line of City Road and the western kerb-line of Tabernacle Street; 4. Rosebery Avenue: the north-west side, between the south-western kerb-line of Farringdon Road and the north-western kerb-line of Mount Pleasant. 5. Sun Street: the north side, between the western kerb-line of Wilson Street and the eastern kerb-line of Finsbury Square. 6. Wilson Street: the west side, between the southern kerb-line of Sun Street and a point 30 metres south of that kerb-line. Schedule 2 1. Lever Street: (a) between the eastern kerb-line of Goswell Road and a point 34 metres east of that kerb-line; (b) the north side, between the eastern kerb-line of King Square and the western kerb-line of Central Street; (c) the south side, between the eastern kerb-line of Central Street and a point 36.5 metres east of that kerb-line. Schedule 3 1. Bath Street: the east side, between a point 82 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Old Street and a point 42 metres north of that kerb-line. Schedule 4 1. Percival Street: between St. John Street and a point 9.14 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Goswell Road. 28th April 2000.
