PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF LORRY AND COACH BAN, COACH PARKING BAY, 20 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT AND ONE WAY TRAFFIC IN VARIOUS ROADS
PRINCE OF WALES DRIVE AREA

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth proposes to make the following Orders under sections 6 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985: The Wandsworth (Prescribed Routes) (No.  ) Order 199  (two Orders); The Wandsworth (20 m.p.h. Speed Limit) (No.  ) Traffic Order 199 , and The Wandsworth (Bus Parking Place) (No.  ) Order 199 . The general effect of the first Prescribed Routes Order would be to prohibit any goods vehicle, the maximum gross weight of which exceeds 7.5 tonnes, or any public service vehicle from entering the following roads: Brougham Street, Burns Road, Freedom Street, Joubert Street, Matthews Street, Odger Street, Reform Street, St. Jame’s Grove and Sheepcote Lane. The prohibition would not apply in certain circumstances, e.g. for loading and unloading or access to off street garaging etc. The general effect of the second Prescribed Routes Order would be to impose one way working for vehicular traffic in: the length of Brynmaer Street between its junction with Albert Bridge Road and its junction with Beechmore Road in the direction from south-west to north-east; the length of Kersley Street between its junction with Battersea Bridge Road and its junction with Foxmore Street in the direction from south-west to north-east; the length of Warriner Gardens between its junction with Beechmore Road and its junction with Alexandra Avenue in the direction from south-west to north-east. The general effect of the 20 m.p.h. Speed Limit Order would be to impose a maximum speed limit of 20 miles per hour in the roads and lengths of roads set out in the Schedule to this notice to improve safety. The general effect of the Bus Parking Place Order would be to designate a parking bay for buses on the south-east side of Burns Road outside the Leisure Centre, to operate between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive. Copies of the proposed Orders, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of a plan which indicates the locations and effects of the Orders can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in the Concourse, Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU.
