Draft Planning Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2006

The Department of the Environment gives notice that a Draft Order in Council to amend planning legislation in Northern Ireland has been laid at Westminster.

The Draft Order contains wide ranging provisions which are intended to speed up the development control system, provide additional enforcement powers and further streamline the development plan process. New powers to enhance community involvement in the planning system and to protect the built and natural environments are also included.
