Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006 S.R. 2006 No. 75

Notice is hereby given that the Department for Employment and Learning, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 33(1) to (4) and 39(3) of the Employment Relations (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 and now vested in it, has made a Statutory Rule entitled the Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006.

This Order increases, from 26th March 2006, the limits applying to certain awards of industrial tribunals, and other amounts payable under employment legislation, as specified in the Schedule to the Order. A new limit for unlawful inducement by employers to forego certain trade union rights has been set in this Order. Orders under Article 33(1) to (4) are required to change the limits by the amount by which the Retail Prices Index for the September immediately preceding the making of the Order is higher (or lower) than the index for the previous September. The increases made by this Order therefore reflect the increase in the index from September 2004 to September 2005.

Article 4 of the Order contains transitional provisions determining the circumstances in which the increased limits will apply.

The Order comes into operation on 26th March 2006.

Printed copies of the Order are available from The Stationery Office Bookshop ISBN 0-337-96390-8 priced £3.00.
