Air Quality Management Area

Derry City Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 12(1) of the Environment (N.I.) Order 2002. has made an order declaring an Air Quality Management Area in its District due to a likely breach of the Nitrogen Dioxide (Annual Mean) Objective as specified in the Air Quality Regulations (N.I.) 2003.

This order and the designated Air Quality Management Area came into effect on 23 February 2005.The order shall remain in force until it is varied or revoked by a subsequent order.

The designated Air Quality Management Area incorporates part of Creggan Road to the North west. parts of Windsor Terrace and Infirmary Road to the North east, part of Creggan Road to the South east and parts of Marlborough Terrace and Lone Moor Road to the South west.

The Order and a map showing the extent of the Air Quality Management Area can be inspected at the offices of the Environmental Health Department of Derry City Council between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00 Monday to Friday.
