1. NOTICE IS GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth ('the Council') on 22 December 2023 made the Lambeth (Prescribed Routes) (No. 14) Experimental Traffic Order 2023 under section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into force on 8 January 2024.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to amend the ban on motor vehicles except permit holders during term-time from the current 8.00am to 9.00am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm to 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm to the hours of 8.15am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 3.45pm Monday to Fridays during term time from entering (a) Mountearl Gardens, the length of the north-east and south-east arms and (b) Mount Nod Road, between the junctions of Leigham Court Road and Mount Earl Gardens. Any vehicle that is already in those length of roads listed in paragraph 2 before the pedestrian and cycle zone commences will be permitted to leave.

3. If you have any enquiries about this matter, please send them by email to: schoolstreets@lambeth.gov.uk. A copy of the Order and other documents giving detailed particulars about it (including a map) are available for inspection between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the Order ceases to have effect, at: the offices of Lambeth Council's Highways and Enforcement Group (Environment and Growth), 3rd Floor, Civic Centre, 6 Brixton Hill, London SW2 1EG. To arrange inspection please telephone 020 7926 0179 or email: rwilliams@lambeth.gov.uk.

4. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely by means of a permanent Order made under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the permanent Order within a period of 6 months beginning with the date on which the experimental Order comes into force or, if the Order is varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the date on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification comes into force. Any such objection must be made in writing and must state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to Roddy Williams, Parking and Enforcement Group (Resident Services), London Borough of Lambeth, PO Box 80771, London, SW29QQ (emails sent to rwilliams@lambeth.gov.uk are acceptable). Any objection may be communicated to, or be seen by, other persons who may have an interest in this matter.

5. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
