PUBLIC NOTICE FOR PROPOSED PARKING CHANGES

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on 1st July 2021 made the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The effect of these orders is as follows:

Various Waiting and Loading changes:

Convert existing single yellow lines to double yellow lines on:

a) Riverside Wharf

i) South side (all single yellow line to double yellow lines)

ii) North side (upgrade single yellow line to double yellow lines junction with Wick Lane for 8m)

b) Wyke Road South Side (outside/next to no.51) upgrade 15m of Double Yellow Lines with No Loading restriction “At Any Time” across vehicle entrance.

c) YabsleyStreet- South side (around roundabout and outside entrance to waste transfer stn.) upgrade 80m of Double Yellow Lines with No Loading restriction “At Any Time”

d) Blackwall way - introduce No Loading “At Any Time” outside no.101-103

e) PixleyStreet- North side (outside Swan Court rear entrance).

f) Cartwright Street- Both sides (between Royal Mint Street and East Smithfield)

g) Rounton Road- Both sides junction with Knapp Road

h) Knapp Road - Both sides junction with Rounton Road

i) Prusom Street – North Side (entrance to Doughty Court).

j) Compton Close – All sides, provide Double Yellow Lines

k) Paton Close: Both sides, Convert all Single yellow line to Double Yellow.

l) Paton Close: South side, revoke existing Permit holders Bay and change it to Double Yellow Lines

m) Bullivant Street- West side (outside Pomfret Place) convert existing 9m of Single Yellow line to Double Yellow lines

n) Bullivant Street- East side (junction with Ashton Street to northern end) convert existing Single Yellow line to Double Yellow lines.

Introduction or changes to Parking Bays

1) Thomas Road – North side (Opposite Chaldron Court) Change 9m of Single Yellow lines to Motorcycle Bay.

2) Solebay Street- South side (outside Moray House) Change Business Permit Holders bay to Permit Holders bay.

3) Priory Street - North side (outside no 19) extend existing Resident Permit Holders bay by another 1 vehicle space at western end of the bay.

4) Priory Street – South side (outside no 16) extend existing Resident Permit Holders bay by another 1 vehicle space at western end of the bay.

5) Reardon Street: West Side (opposite St Peter’s Centre) Convert 11m of Double Yellow lines to Permit Holders bay

6) Burslem Street: South Side (outside Ropewalk Gardens) Change Pay by Phone bay to Shared use bay.

7) Bigland Street: Both Side (between Pace Place and Morris Street) Change 3 No. Pay by Phone bays to Shared use bays.

8) Tillman Street: West side (outside Jamiatul Ummah School) change single vehicle Pay by Phone bay to Shared use bay.

9) Fordham Street: North side (outside 19/21) change existing 5m Motorcycle bay to Permit Holders bay.

10) Newark Street: South side (Junction with New Road) Convert 5m of existing Business Bay to Motorcycle Bay.

11) Whitethorn Street- West side (outside no.79) convert existing 4 Vehicles Residents Permit Holders Bay to three vehicles Residents Permit holders Bay and convert one vehicle space (6.5m) into Single Yellow Lines

To introduce Personalised Disabled Parking Bays (PDB’s):

a) Poplar High Street: (outside Elligood Court) converting 2 Multi Bay parking spaces to 2 Personalised Disable Bays and one General Disable Bay with 3 hours limit and no return within one hour.

b) Stewart Street: outside 4 Alice Shepherd House

To change PDB’s to Resident permit holder on: (a) Elwin Street (bay no.666 outside no 23), (b) Morville Street (bay no.318 outside no.262), (c) Eric Street (bay no. 506 outside no 19).

3. The Regulations, fees and usual exemptions imposed by the governing Traffic Management Orders would apply to the proposals referred to in paragraph 2 above.

4. Copies of the Orders, which will come into force on 1st July of 2021 and of all other relevant documents can be obtained by emailing parking.TMO@towerhamlets.gov.uk until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.

5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, or that at any relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
