DAVIES STREET, GILBERT STREET, ST. ANSELM’S PLACE AND WEIGHHOUSE STREET

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 14th December 2020 made the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:

• The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (E Zone) (Amendment No. 79) Order 2020;

• The City of Westminster (Prescribed Routes) (No. 17) Traffic Order 2020; and

• The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 424) Order 2020.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be, in connection with the completion of the Bond Street Station Ticket Hall in Davies Street, to:

(a) create a “pedestrian and cycle zone” in Weighhouse Street, between Davies Street and Gilbert Street. Motor vehicles will be prohibited from entering or proceeding in the zone, except for access to premises. The existing westbound one-way working will remain;

(b) introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions throughout the pedestrian and cycle zone referred to in paragraph 2(a) above;

(c) introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions on the south-west side of Davies Street, between Weighhouse Street and St. Anselm’s Place;

(d) prohibit vehicles in South Molton Lane from turning right into Davies Street;

(e) remove the residents’ parking place (12 metres) from the north side of St. Anselm’s Place; and

(f) introduce a residents’ parking place (27 metres) on the west side of Gilbert Street, south of Weighhouse Street.

4. The Orders, which will come into force on 21st December 2020, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until 25th January 2021 at http://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices. Please note that documents will not be available for inspection in person until further notice.

5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
