PORTSMOUTH STREET, PORTUGAL STREET AND LINCOLN’S INN FIELDS

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended:

• The City of Westminster (Electric Vehicle Recharging Points) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*;

• The City of Westminster (Free Parking Places) (Disabled Persons) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*;

• The City of Westminster (Loading Bays) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*;

• The City of Westminster (Parking Places) (G Zone) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*;

• The City of Westminster (Prescribed Routes) (No. *) Traffic Order 202*; and

• The City of Westminster (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be, in connection with the development of the London School of Economics at No. 44 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, to:

(a) introduce a pedestrian and cycle zone in Portsmouth Street. Motor vehicles would be prohibited from entering Portsmouth Street at any time, except for loading by goods vehicles between 3.00 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. in the northern section (between Sardinia Street / Lincoln’s Inn Fields and Sheffield Street). “At any time” waiting restrictions would also apply throughout Portsmouth Street;

(b) introduce a loading bay on the north-west side of Portugal Street, adjacent to No. 44 Lincoln’s Inn Fields;

(c) introduce double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions on the north-west side of Portugal Street, adjacent to No. 44 Lincoln’s Inn Fields;

(d) introduce a “Blue Badge” disabled persons’ parking bay on the south-east side of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, outside No. 44;

(e) relocate the electric vehicle parking bays on the south-east side of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, outside No. 44, south-westward by 5 metres;

(f) relocate the shared-use parking places on the south-east side of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, outside No. 44, to merge them into one parking place and provide an additional parking space; and

(g) extend the single yellow line waiting restriction on the south-east side of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, outside No. 44, south-westward by 9 metres.

3. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at http://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices. Please note that documents will not be available for inspection in person until further notice.

All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
