1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the “Waiting and Loading” Orders would be to further amend the Merton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1977 or the Merton (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (CPZ W4) (No. 2) Order 2005 so that:-

(a) waiting by vehicles (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle for 40 minutes) would be prohibited at any time in the roads or lengths of roads described in:-

(i) Schedule 1 to this Notice;

(ii) in any length of Rodney Road, CR4, not described in Schedule 2 to this Notice;

(iii) in any length of Walsingham Road, CR4, not described in Schedule 3 to this Notice; and

(iv) in any length of Elm Gardens, CR4, not described in Schedule 4 to this Notice;

(b) the waiting restrictions in

(i) Tandem Way, Colliers Wood; and

(ii) Prince George’s Road, Colliers Wood;

would be updated to match the existing road layouts;

(c) waiting by vehicles for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle, would be prohibited in all the lengths of Prince George’s Road where double yellow lines are currently marked out.

3. The general effect of the Disabled Persons Order would be to revoke redundant disabled persons parking places in Rodney Road.

4. The general effect of the Merton (Free Parking Places) (No.*) Order 202* would be to introduce the free partial footway parking places specified in Schedules 2 (items 1 to 6), 3 and 4 to this Notice and a free parking place specified in item 7 of Schedule 2 to this Notice, that would operate at any time throughout the week and specify that:

(a) the parking places may be used, subject to the provisions of the Order, for the leaving during the permitted hours of such vehicles as are passenger vehicles, goods vehicles, invalid carriages or motor cycles; and

(b) there would be no charge for parking in the parking places.

5. A copy of the proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which indicate the lengths of roads to which the Orders relate can be inspected Monday to Friday during normal office hours at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey.

6. Any person desiring to make representations or to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof, to the Environment and Regeneration Department at the Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden, Surrey, SM4 5DX, or alternatively by email to trafficandhighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/WR2020B5, no later than 27 March 2020.
