The Department of Health has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The Human Medicines (Amendment) Regulations 2018 (S.R. 2018 No. 64), which comes into operation on 1st April 2018.

These Regulations amend the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 by inserting new definitions of radiation emergency and paramedic indepoendent prescriber and adding paramedics to the list of health professionals who are included in the definition of a supplementary prescriber.

Amendments to the Human Medicnes Regulations 2012 are subject to the requirements of the Statutory Rules (NI) Order and the corresponding SI in respect of this Statutory Rule is S.I. 199/2018.
