Notice is hereby given that Westminster City Council proposes to make an order under sub-section 247 (2A) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (“the 1990 Act”), the general effect of which will be to authorise the stopping up of a 16 square metre area of the highway Cleveland Street to enable the development to be carried out at the premises Emerson Bainbridge House 47 Cleveland Street London W1T 4JQ. The development comprises the erection of a railed enclosure; including a lightwell with spiral staircase between basement and ground floors.

The part of the highway that the order would authorise to be stopped up extends from the ground floor external wall of the present building across a 15.9 metre length of the highway Cleveland Street by a distance of between 1.1 metres at that wall’s southern end and 0.98 metres at that wall’s northern end.

The order and plan identifying the location of the highway proposed to be stopped up may be inspected free of charge between 11am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, during a period of 28 days from the date of this notice. Any person may, within that period, object to the making of the order by notice to Westminster City Council, at City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, SW1E 6QP. Please quote reference DP/HP/JRP/201508055 in any such notice.

This notice is given pursuant to section 252 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and invokes the powers conferred on London Boroughs by section 253 of that statute, to publish the draft order described above, before granting permission.

Westminster City Council granted permission for the development under part three of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 on 11 March 2015.
