THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. 154) ORDER 2014

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 20th October 2014 made the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be, in connection with the redevelopment of Nos. 96-98 Bishop’s Bridge Road and associated revisions to the layout of the carriageway, to:

(a) relocate the loading bay on the east side of Queensway (adjacent to Nos. 96-98 Bishop’s Bridge Road) southward by 12 metres;

(b) shorten the loading bay on the west side of Queensway (outside Nos. 183 to 189) by 2 metres;

(c) relocate the residents’ parking place outside Claremont Court, Queensway southward by 2 metres;

(d) introduce two metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting restrictions outside the vehicular entrance to Claremont Court;

(e) introduce “at any time” loading restrictions:

(i) on the east side of Queensway, immediately north of the new service entrance to Nos. 96-98 Bishop’s Bridge Road (approximately 10 metres); and

(ii) on the north side of Westbourne Grove, between Queensway and the pedestrian crossing (approximately 12.5 metres);

(f) relocate four cycle stands from outside Nos. 96-98 Bishop’s Bridge Road to the northern end of a new widened footway outside Nos. 175 to 189 Queensway;

(g) relocate the cycle stand outside Nos. 183 to 189 Queensway to the kerb build-out on the opposite side of the road outside the southern end of Claremont Court.

Please note that the measures outlined in sub-paragraphs (c), (d) and (g) are minor modifications to the original proposals published on 14th March 2014.

3. The Orders, which will come into force on 25th October 2014, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until the 1st December 2014 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at WSP UK, 10th Floor, Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP.

4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any relevant requirements thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made make application for the purpose to the High Court.
