THE STOPPING UP OF highway land forming part of the properties 15 and 20 Rochford Way, Seaford, East Sussex, BN25 2TA, formerly verge to the U5501, Seaford in the County of East Sussex (registered at the land registry under title numbers ESX287935 and ESX290028)
TAKE NOTICE that the East Sussex County Council intend to apply to the Brighton Magistrates’ Court under the Highways Act 1980, section 116 for the stopping up of highway described in the Schedule to this Notice on the ground that it is unnecessary.
The application will be made on the 15 May 2014 at 14.15 in the Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
The effect of the Order sought will be to prevent all traffic over the land for the purposes of identification only described in the Schedule below and shown hatched black on the plan which may, along with the draft Order, be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Lewes and the offices of Lewes District Council, 32 High Street, Lewes during normal office hours.
Any person who uses the highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order applied for, have a right to be heard at the Court hearing.
SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE STOPPED UP
A strip of land which forms part of the properties 15 and 20 Rochford Way, Seaford, East Sussex, BN25 2TA, formerly verge to the U5501, forming part of 15 and 20 Rochford Way. Part of the highway land is unenclosed grass verge to the north-east of 20 Rochford Way; the other part is the landscaped garden to the south-east of 15 Rochford. The land forms part grass verge and part landscaped garden and is situated between the footway at the end of Rochford Way, number 15 Rochford Way, the side garden of 20 Rochford Way and the adjoining agricultural field. The highway to be stopped up has a maximum length of 16.5 metres, a maximum width of 11 metres and is a total area of 163 metres squared. It is shown edged and hatched black on the draft Order at National Grid Reference: TQ546771, TQ100637.
