What is this notice?
These notices advertise the appointment of lord-lieutenants (also vice lord-lieutenants). The requirement to gazette deputy lord-lieutenants is expressed within the Lieutenancies Act 1997 S.2 (7); however, the section that deals with lord lieutenants (Lieutenancies Act 1997 S.1) and vice lord-lieutenancies (Lieutenancies Act 1997 S.3) does not state that appointment ought to be gazetted as under S.2 (7), so this is a non-mandatory notice.
